... We found living at the top of the charming old town of Villefranche absolutely delightful - walking out daily to pick up baguettes and bakery treats, as well as frequenting a few of the charming restaurants. The apartment had a breathtaking outlook over Cap de Ferat and the old town, and was very well stocked with all the essentials we could need. Eamon was very accommodating when we needed it, and punctual in responding to our enquiries. We tried the recommended Oliviera restaurant in Nice and fell in love with it, and the very passionate owners. Highly recommended! We also visited the villages of St Paul de Vence and Eze... both were charmingly beautiful and quiet in the ' off season'. Finally we enjoyed many walks - including to Villa Rothschild, and following the stunning pathway around Cap de Ferat. We would not hesitate in staying here again, and indeed hope that one day we will be able to return! Mette and Brad ( and our 3 teenagers), Perth, Western Australia"
... from the airport and deliver us straight to the door of the apartment where she was waiting for us.
We were really pleased with the apartment - it was well appointed, spacious, clean and had a pretty amazing view from the beautiful terrace where many a meal was eaten and glass of wine sipped! The apartment had Sky TV (great for keeping the children out of trouble when we needed some quiet time), wi-fi and excellent air-conditioning which was definitely welcome in August! Out on the terrace there were umbrellas, snorkels etc that you could take to the beach - these were much used by us and very appreciated.
It has a fab location - okay - it's at the top of a steep hill when coming up from Villefranche town however that just helps to burn off all the extra calories you've put on from all those visits to the patisserie!
It was quiet and we slept beautifully. Really couldn't ask for more out of a holiday apartment."
... the waterfront and the Hotel Du Ville was amazing. The apartment was very comfortable and well-equipped. We enjoyed sipping wine on the veranda each evening. We enjoyed the walk down through the Viellle Ville to the beach and back everyday--a good way to burn off the creme brullee and profiteroles calories. Enjoy the cafe scene on the beach at La Voile Bleu (large, delicious, salade nicoise) Don't miss the delicious food at Cafe Cosmo on the waterfront just in front of Eglise St. Pierre. A visit to the Villa Rothschild is a wonderful morning or afternoon trip--we walked there and took the bus back. Manager Sue and driver Jean Frederique were very friendly and helpful. No need for a car, as you can get what you need in a short walk or even quick bus trip (only 1 Euro). A truly magical place where we hope soon to return!"
... As advertised, the area is well served by public transport, and we visited most of the attractions in the Cote d'Azur region. The weather for the entire period was perfect, with bright sunny days, and cooler evenings and no crowds. Please convey our thanks to Susan and Vivi who (indirectly) and directly assisted us with airport taxi's, checking in and out, etc.."
... The pebble beach has crystal clear water. It was very pleasant and convenient to stay here, comfortable and perfect location for us, as we could walk everywhere. Buses and trains just minutes away, and not stress with parking and rush hour along the roads. Bakery and groceries just minutes away. The terrace is a nice place to spend the evenings (and sunny days as well), as we stayed in with our two small children every night. The view over the bay is very beautiful, day and night. The locals were friendly and the food was great, we especially enjoyed the "Fishermans Daughter" and "Locoloco". The consierge is very capable and friendly, she is great! We hope to come back at another occation. All the best, Ingveig and Svein, Norway."
... rather than trecking further up the hill! Added bonuses of good air conditioning and bbq on the terrace."
... information about Villefranche. After spending a week in Paris this was the perfect, relaxing location. An easy bus ride to Nice or Monaco. We had a rental car for day trips but everything in Villefranche was within easy walking distance from this very comfortable apartment. Eamon, the owner, was prompt in response to my e-mails and everything was clean and in working order at the apartment. They thought of everything to make it a very comfortable place to stay. THANK YOU."
... by bus and train along the coast. Grocery shopping in the small stores in the town below was a pleasure. Car not necessary. View fantastic!"
... helping us get set up, tips on restaurants, how to get groceries delivered and arranging taxis. We (two couples) had a fantastic week and if we are lucky enough to return we will definitely stay in this apartment."
This place is an perfect location if you want to explore the coast by car or by train. It is a small town but people there will let you experience "joie de vivre" the French way. Learn a bit of french language and you will have a better experience discussing with them about their great country. This should be an extraordinary life experience. Sue you were very welcoming."

... right across the wonderful bay of Villefranche. Location is excellent, close to the old quarters, good shopping facilities, restaurants, bus stop and train station. We had a car (and found a parking space near by every night) but you dont really need one.Nice is very close but it's delightful to come back to Villefranche.A lot of great facilities and sights are at hand and at easy access from the flat. ... with its many restaurants. You don't really need a car as the bus to Nice stops very near the apartment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone."
... our third stay in the town. It has a lovely, friendly ambience and is mostly unspoilt by modern development. In spite of arriving in mid-November we have had only four days with rain and plenty of days of sunshine, when we did lots of walking to Beaulieu and to Port St Jean and on the footpaths around Cap Ferrat, where the scenery is breathtaking. For going further around the coast, the train service is fine and the station is nearby. As we have been working as well as holidaying here, the broadband access has been invaluable. We have enjoyed the DVDs and books you have provided, and the barbeque on the balcony was a great bonus. The decor is charming and the wardrobe in the bedroom really useful. As owners of a holiday place in Australia,we can see that you have put a lot of thought into setting this up. Thank you for your excellent apartment and thank you to the manager who was very welcoming and very helpful."
